Before You Send a Drawing

A few useful answers.

Questions we hear from engineers and procurement managers evaluating CEF for power generation and energy infrastructure work. If yours isn’t here, send the drawing and ask — we answer every submission within one business day.

Yes, along with stainless steel, aluminum, heavy plate and structural steel. Our welders are qualified across MIG, TIG, stick and flux-cored processes on carbon, stainless, aluminum, high-alloy and nickel-based alloys, and we weld to AWS and ASME procedures with a Certified Welding Inspector on staff. Include the alloy specification with your drawing.

Machining is done in house when the part fits our equipment — our Haas machining centers handle pieces to 4,000 lb. Larger components and weldments are machined by a sister company or another partner within the same scope of work, so a subframe needing bores and flat mounting faces after welding stays one purchase order and one schedule.

SGS North America granted our certification, and we have held it since January 2011. It is maintained through surveillance audits by SGS, random internal process audits and voluntary additional audits through the year, which matters when a component is going into equipment that has to run continuously.

It depends on material availability, the processes the part needs, quantity and current shop loading, so we quote timing with the price rather than publishing a number we would have to qualify. Send the drawing with your target date and we will tell you whether it is achievable.
